RULES

❗ This document is a list of every current rule on Prism City! Please follow them while playing on the server or talking on the Discord server.
Note that unlike other servers, we have a very informal way of moderating. You can get away with a lot of things if people just... don't care about it. Because we believe in self-expression instead of nonsense beurocracy. Just don't upset people, and you will most likely be okay - these rules only really exist as a way to define "bad things" once someone is ALREADY upset by something. If you break a rule and nobody cares, you won't get punished, because that's just stupid.

📑 | Strike System
❗ The Strike System is a moderation system used to make sure that only repeat rulebreakers or major misbehavior get major punishments like bans. Here’s how it works
- Each rule is assigned an amount of strikes. When you break that rule, you’ll get that many strikes.
- Once you get a certain amount of strikes, you’ll get a certain punishment
- A log of all punishments are in the Discord server, but they’re only visible to staff.
- Whenever you receive a strike, a staff member should ping you. But, you can ask staff at any time to check how many strikes you currently have.
You may ask for a strike appeal if it’s been months since you’ve broken any rules, but don’t assume staff will necessarily remove the strikes and/or unban you. It really depends on what you’ve done, and if we feel like you will have changed enough to be safe to let back in.
The "punishments" for each strike count are as follow:
- 1 strike = Nothing
- 2 strikes = A slap on the wrist
- 3 strikes = Ban for 1 hour (rethink your actions, old chum!)
- 4 strikes = Ban for 1 week
- 5 strikes = Ban for 1 month
- 6 strikes = Ban permanently until further notice
- 7 strikes (or more) = Ban permanently, nothing extra

📖 | Rules
The rules are as follow, as well as their corresponding strikes given for breaking them.
Note that if you break the rules and nobody really ends up getting upset from it, you are much more likely to get away with it (like if you make a British Joke, it's technically discrimination based on nationality, but nobody really cares so you won't get striked).
Disrespect
Insulting people, picking fights, or continuously doing behavior that upsets other people - that's disrespect.
Disrespect is essentially the catch-all rule for when something's annoying, but doesn't fall under any of the more severe categories below this rule.
Discrimination
Discriminating upon certain groups of people based on arbitrary traits such as race, nationality, sexuality, body type, or ability/disability IS NOT ALLOWED. This includes using slurs (yeah, even if you're in that group of people, it's still uncomfortable so you generally can't say them). Please try to be kind to people and understand their circumstances - we aren't as different as you might think.
Hacking/Cheating
While Prism City is more relaxed than many other servers (map mods, glowing ores, and even freecam are allowed) - certain things that change your actual player input are not allowed (for example: auto-aim, flight, nuke, or scaffolding). Don't push it. It makes it worse for everyone, and makes the server staff stressed for no good reason. It's annoying.
Inappropriate (NSFW) Content
This server is meant to be of a "PG13 rating", and overall a comfortable place. Please don’t post violent, sexual, or overly dark content. Minor infractions won’t be striked, unless they’re constantly repeated to the point of being uncomfortable. Also, if you share inappropriate content with another server member PRIVATELY, and that person is fine with it, then you won't get punished at all - it's not the server's business.
Just make sure people aren't uncomfortable. For example [CONTENT WARNING UP AHEAD] you can freely talk about yourself feeling awful emotionally (potentially suicidal), we won't tell you to shut up because it's "too dark." It's just, make sure none of the people online are easily triggered by it. This is a community after all. It would be pretty annoying to tell you to "shut up" because you're being honest about your own life.
Griefing
Intentionally messing up builds - "griefing" - is not allowed. You can break into certain locations (like houses), but you should only SLIGHTLY destroy the build (for example: smashing two blocks of a window, or breaking 3 brick blocks). Griefing as a "prank" is sometimes excused, especially when it can be rolled back - but when it's between people who are strangers, it's not really a prank, it's just bullying. Note that all major griefing will be reverted via the use of rollbacks, but that doesn't mean we will go lightly on people who meant to upset us by breaking things.
Dodgy Dating
Essentially, this rule is envoked whenever someone appears to have an inappropriate relationship with another member of the server, particularly if they've initiated inside of the server. This is decided on a case-by-case-basis, but it usually applies even if you're roleplaying marrying someone that's significantly older/younger than you in real life. As a server that ideally has people of different ages living in harmony, don't make it uncomfortable and ruin that harmony... Even if it's "just a roleplay." It's uncomfortable and potentially dangerous.
Malicious Links
Sending malicious downloads or links is very serious, as it can compromise peoples’ devices. Don’t do it.
Crashing/lagging
DO NOT intentionally crash or lag peoples’ devices or the server - or in other ways try to ruin the server by messing up its’ configuration, payment, or files.
Admin Abuse
Usage of admin powers for things unrelated to actual administration is strongly disallowed.
Extreme cases of rulebreaking will likely result in a permanent ban, even if they don't fall under any of the rules here. It's our domain, and if we think something's messed up, we will have to do something about it. Sorry.

💖 | Appeal
You may appeal punishments that you deem as unfair via the Google Form here. You could also use the informal method of privately messaging NiiceSpiice on Discord. If you do not wish to use either of these platforms, you might be able to reach out to me in another method... Maybe join Minecraft on an alternative account? I honestly have no idea, sorry.

⛔ | Reports
You can report people that you think the staff team is looking over. In fact, if you have a problem with the staff themselves, you can talk to them. Particularly the owner, NiiceSpiice. They like to be criticised! (kind of).
However, there is no formal method for reporting at this current moment. Sorry.
