mental disorders are a social construct - they are based on tangible symptoms but the diagnostic criteria is always inherintly based on a fundamental level of ableism (psychologists looking at X Weird People and conducting studies to attempt to explain why they are Personally Individually Uniquely Broken and then people starting to apply them as some kind of way for "recovery" even when the labels aren't about that)
